Willow FAQ

Common questions

Honest answers to what we get asked most about the Willow.

Does the Willow have a loft?

No. The Willow is intentionally non-lofted. The space that would normally go to a loft above instead becomes a high, flat ceiling that runs the full length of the home. That gives the Willow a more open, airy feel than you typically get from a 399 square foot model.

If you want a loft for sleeping or storage, look at the Hemlock or Alder. If you want a single-story layout that feels bigger than its footprint, the Willow is your model.

What makes the Willow different from our other non-lofted models?

The Willow is our premium non-lofted model. The high flat ceiling, the galley-style kitchen with extra counter space and storage, and the layout designed to maximize natural light all push it above our entry-level non-lofted options.

It's also our most popular non-lofted model, which is why we keep one on our Portland and Snohomish lots for tours.

How is the Willow heated?

Standard baseboard heat is included. Cadet wall heaters and mini-split heat pumps are both available as upgrades. A mini-split adds cooling on top of heat, which is what most Pacific Northwest owners choose.

How long until my Willow is delivered?

Most Willows are built in 8 to 12 weeks from order confirmation. We'll quote you the exact timeline when you order.

Is the Willow a park model RV or an ADU?

Park model RV. The Willow is built and certified to ANSI A119.5 standards, titled and registered as an RV, and follows RV placement laws in your state and county.

This is different from an ADU, which is built to residential code and follows residential building permits. Park model RVs have their own rules and they're often simpler.

Where can I put a Willow?

Placement follows park model RV laws, which vary by state, county, and city. Common options include private property zoned for RV use, RV parks, and tiny home communities.

The Willow's compact 35 by 11 foot footprint makes it one of the easier models to place on a typical residential lot. We recommend confirming local zoning before you order. We're happy to talk through your specific property when you tour.

Why do people choose the Willow?

Three things come up most often. The high flat ceiling makes the space feel bigger than its footprint. The galley kitchen has more counter space and storage than buyers expect from a home this size. And the single-story layout works well for owners who don't want to climb a ladder to bed every night.

It's also our most popular non-lofted model, which tells its own story.
